Easy Tin Can Stilts

Cross that mud puddle without getting wet feet! Tin can stilts are super easy to make and a fun way to walk.

What you will need:

2 clean and empty cans the same size, opened at one end (tall juice cans work great)

Clothes line or thin rope

Can opener (to make holes)

First make holes to thread the clothesline through by turning the can over so the bottom is up. Use the can opener to make two openings on opposite sides (as if you were opening a can to pour from, but on the sides instead of the top). Next have your child stand on the clothes line and bring both sides up to mid-chest. Cut the line and then thread each end through a hole from inside the can and pull up. Knot the ends together to form a loop. When ready to use, have your child stand on the cans, hold on to the rope loops, and pull up to keep the cans on her feet as she walks.
